deconstructing the landscape

Many of these works were based on photographs taken from a moving car, the vantage point for so many of our landscape explorations. There was a deliberate effort to simplify and smooth out all the details of the landscape, to focus on the shapes and planes. Sometimes a colour that looks arbitrary was selected to greatly emphasize one colour that I could see, and eliminate other colours.
